Ambulance union to ballot members on action over broken pay pledges
Today junior doctors have strikes over mounting tensions over contracts which will stretch them further. The government have marketed a 7 day NHS but at the moment, doctors already work 7 days a week providing emergency care.
NHS 111 computer system accused of killing patients
The NHS 111 system is used by non-clinical staff to triage calls. The system is designed to be over-cautious and has been criticised previously for dispatching ambulances to patients who could be seen by their GP or a visit a pharmacist and didn’t need an emergency ambulance or a bed in A&E.
Greater Manchester Marathon event was too short
For the last 3 years the Greater Manchester Marathon event course has been 415ft too short and officials have stated that official times of 24,000 runners are void.
