NHS Patient Transport Services / HDU Ambulance

We provide patient transport services for to NHS hospital Trusts and ICB’s. We offer ad hoc and contracted services. We provide both long distance and short distance journeys. We carry out both individual journeys and provide ambulances for shifts.

We pride ourselves on being a responsive overflow provider, able to provide additional support in response to peak demands as well as part of ongoing contracts.

We also have the capability to deal with challenging or specialist transfers, including journeys requiring a technician or paramedic, cardiac monitoring, bariatric and complex cases requiring enhanced care or individual plans.

Private Patient Services

Patient transport to hospital is sometimes available if you are eligible and is usually booked via your GP or the place of care you are attending. One of the downsides of NHS transport is at peak times you can be waiting a long time.

You can book MET Medical to take you to an NHS or private hospital appointment.

The main benefit of private transport is that there is no waiting around, you can be certain the ambulance will pick you up at a pre-booked time and the crew will be on hand as soon as you are ready to go home. If its a short appointment they will take you there and wait outside.

All private patient journeys are staffed by ambulance crews who have the same or higher training than our NHS partners. We provide 999 services to the NHS in our region so you can be assured we know what we are doing and so do they. We risk assess each journey to ensure we staff them suitably and you or your relative are safe.

Long Distance Transfers

Need to move a patient from one region to another or across international borders?

MET Medical are experienced at providing long- distance ambulance transfers.

We carry out long-distance journeys on an almost daily basis and we tailor every journey to the indvidual needs. If you need to move a family member from a care home for example closer to you. We have you covered.

High Dependency Ambulances

We offer high-dependency ambulances for patients who require a higher level of care. All HDU Ambulances are staffed by technicians or paramedics and have suction and cardiac monitoring.

Our office is staffed by a team of registered healthcare professionals (this is quite unique). This enables us to make rapid assessments of requirements and put together plans for critical transport very rapidly.

Specialist Services for Care Home

We have a number of specialist services for care homes residents.

We also carry out short-distance journeys in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, London and Berkshire.
