Hello! We’re MET Medical we are a private ambulance service based in London Road, St Albans. We are a family business run by Paramedics. We work mostly for the NHS supporting them with answering 999 calls in the local area and also moving patients between hospitals, home and appointments especially around St Albans, Watford and Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
We have a very unique opportunity. If you are out of work and are looking to fill your time and help those most at risk then here’s an opportunity. We will provide you with around 2 weeks training for free. You will receive a Qualsafe Level 3 First Responder Qualifcation and training on manual handling, infection control and safeguarding. (Qualsafe FREC3 Qualification)
We will then be able to offer you the opportunity to work with our staff carrying out both non emergency patient transfers and responding to 999 calls on the frontline. You will work with a qualifed ambulance techncian or paramedic if you are on the frontline.
You will be financially compensated for any shifts you work. We’re primarily looking to partner with the self-employed as they have the most uncertainty right now. We’ll offer you a starting rate for any shifts of £10 per hour with the opportunity should you wish to stay working beyond this crisis of gaining further training and qualifications with great career opportunities, including continuing the FREC route and great rates of pay. Please note at this time we are only able to offer self-employed contracts for this role.
All of our Covid19 stars will be provided with uniform and personal protective equipment. We also have access to testing such as antibody tests to keep you safe. You will also have access to a range of discounts as a healthworker and use of our Assistance Program which provides free support such as access to a GP over the phone, legal advice, debt management, counselling etc. Finally, we provide all our staff with direct access to the services we offer for their immediate friends and family in and around the St Albans area.
We do have to carry out detailed employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, UK Right to Work, Occupational health screening and all applicants must have a Valid Driving License with no more that 3 points at the time of joining.
